next 'sa' will be written with a dot above it. This means, that 'sa' or C is played in the 2nd pitch. In the same way, notes that lie below the normal pitch will be written with a dot underneath. (indicates these notes are in lower pitch...)
Now, i think, you people can guess, what if a note is written with two dot above it!
In key board, we have c# and d # so on...
but in eastern, violin, we have c# too. but the notation is slightly different. here we write
're' and a '|' line above it. (notational conventions vary from region to reion. I agree that. you too can stick with one notation!)
'gamaga' means its the minute difference between two different notes. It is generated and played by experts who have in depth knowledge about raga and its different varieties.
by learning different kinds of raga and its style of playing, you can come to know how to generate 'gamaga'. its so sweet to our ears only when its played properly and in such a way. On the other hand it can kill the melody.
For example, you can observe that, when some of the renowned classical instrumental players play melody it will always get mixed properly with some of their sweet touches. it is the essence of that song. but there is a lurking danger too. If you play an ordinary hindi film song with a classical touch it will not be so good to your ears. so give touches to your song when needed and give at a proper place..
thats what we call the sweet melody of music...
